Yesterday for lunch we tried the replacement to Cafe Uno. Not that much different to before, except the focus isn't on Italian food. There's burgers and steaks now. And the price tag has gone up. The head waiter/manager is still the same though.

The burger I had wasn't too bad. A tad over cooked. The jalepenos were barely noticable though.

ION I also saw Spiderman 3. It's pretty good, although I'm not sure it's better than #2. I won't go into details cos most people won't have seen it yet and I don't want to spoil it for them. I will say that the effects for Sandman and Venom are awesome.

Ha! A pox on Gourmet Star. Blue Sky rules! Or at least it provided me with adequately tasty chinese food that far surpasses what GS have recently.

Hmmm...I think the Gourmet Star is under new management. Cos they suck now. They've changed the menu and recipes and it's all rubbish :(

Oooh. *groans* My belly is so fully of yummy food. I decided to try out the Village Bar and Grill for a late lunch. It's a tad on the pricey side, but I think it was worth it. The steak I had was cooked just how I requested it. The garlic spinach was just garlicy enough to taste of garlic, but not over powered. Not overly convinced by the Baileys cheesecake, didn't really taste much of Baileys, but it helped that they'd drizzled some over the top.

Those of you who know me well, will be surprised to hear I ate all my veggies too ;)

I had an damn fine meal last night. Steak and ale pie. Roasted potatoes with onion, bacon and garlic. Onion gravy. As I was eating it I had the freaky idea that it really needed some veggies. I must be poorly ;)

Urg. I have just eaten the most foulest, yet tasty pizza ever. Dominos have sunk to new lows, by creating a pizza that has a layer of cheese in the base. It's not real cheese, it's some fake plastic stuff that tastes very nice, yet foul at the same time. It makes the pizza taste better, but awful. I certainly do feel very queasy having eaten some and more so thinking about it.

My mouth is on fire! I just got a meatball sub with jalepenoes. I'm in heaven.

I think Coke have finally realised that we might actually enjoy the taste of different flavours of coke. I've just seen full fat coke with lime. Surprisingly not that different in taste to the diet incarnation unlike how things turned out with the lemon ones.

Watched Transporter 2 last night. Very silly film with lots of insane driving and even more insane leaping about with guns. And there's a crazy lady who likes running around in her skimpies shooting people with twin automatic pistol thingies. A bit like a slutty Lara Croft.

Tescos' chocolate filled crepes are no where near as good as the real thing. I shall have to have pancakes tomorrow instead. *yums*

*yums* Subway rock. Just had one of their meatball and cheese subs. Very tasty. Shame it was wet out when I went to go get it.

[livejournal.com profile] sea_cucumber has spod! It seems the secret to getting the two gizmos talking was powercycling both of them. That makes no sense at all. Still had to twiddle the routing, but that didn't need another reboot. Thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] izzy_stradlin for accidently discovering the solution.

We had GIANT pizza too. 1/2metre long and very tasty. They have gained a taste for posh wood baked fancy pizza. Also watched some of Rosemary's Baby. A clearly bad and wrong film, if only for the clothing and haircuts.

Am very sleepy. Will crash ASAP when/if I get home.

Went and saw Batman Begins last night. Liked it a lot although I'm kinda miffed that they didn't maintain continuity with the other films. spoilers )

. But I still enjoyed it. It's certainly a lot better than some of the later sequels.

I also did very well on the icecream front. Very cute serving girl gave me an extra scoop of icecream. Supposedly because there wasn't enough rum'n'raisin to make a whole scoop up, but the amount she showed me wasn't much less than what I'd have thought they'd put in a scoop anyway. Still didn't last long and I'd finished it long before the film had started.

In some ways it'd be better if they could provide icecream in the middle of the film. I'm too young to remember much about the old days of intermissions and the like, but I don't think that films benefit from having a break. But it would be nice to be able to get cold creamy goodness part way through somehow. Maybe they could start providing mini cooling devices to keep drinks and icecream cold?

Tonight I get to see "Kung Fu Hustle" which looks to be very good too. Saturday I might go and see "A Lot Like Love" which seems to be the story of my life.
