I recently bought a couple of books and a tape on building up my assertive levels and today I finally got around to listening to the tape. As I expected, the speaker on the tape was American, but I soon realised that the tape was aimed at Americans by this class phrase.

"Of course you should not listen to this tape whilst driving a car, because it says to close your eyes and relax deeply."

Only an American would need to be told this. It makes me wonder how the Americans I do know managed to survive when their fellow countrymen have barely a braincell to rub between them.
