This is a tricky time of year. I have to work out what to get my mum for xmas. I know what she wants, but I don't think it's do-able. She wants a new VCR so she can watch her videos and record stuff. Except at a quick glance, they don't make VCRs any more. Fairly understandable I guess.

She also is pondering getting a DVD player. I'm thinking that getting her a combo DVD/VCR is probably the best option of solving both problems. Although it wouldn't be capable of recording off digital. So I guess ultimately she'd also need a digital PVR too.

I think sorting this out in person is going to required. Maybe taking her shopping in the sales.
